I've failed at blogging...

Well the blog route didn't turn out but here is an update anyway. I have been on spring break this week which was a MUCH welcomed break!! To say that life has been a roller coaster the past month is an understatement. Addison opened the lake up for weekends the first weekend in April. I graduate in 4 weeks. Where has the time gone?! Our house is still under construction and nothing has been done since Christmas but this summer we will have more time.

Adalynn and I went to the beach (North Myrtle Beach) with Addison's mom Daphne for the weekend. That was nice. Adalynn still HATES the sand. She is a water baby but despises the sand. She absolutely loved all the birds flying at the beach and had fun chair hopping. Easter Sunday we went to church and I dropped her off at the nursery which was a bitter sweet moment. This was her first time in any type of daycare type setting let alone interaction with more than one other child. I set her down and she crawled off to the bookcase and started pulling blocks off the shelf. I went to play with her and show her how they worked (they were circle shaped very cool) and she played for about a minute or so before she eyed the play kitchen and was off to go play in the kitchen. When I came and picked her up they said she did great. I was worried she would be mean to the other kids (she hits the dogs sometimes) but they said she did awesome and was a shy but she played and did very well. She didn't cry except small short "sympathy" cries when another child would cry. When I told them that it was her first time in that tpe of setting they were all amazed at how well she did. Made me a proud momma!!

Adalynn is STILL not walking nor shows any signs of walking. She will walk pushing her shopping cart or stroller but no desire to walk solo. She has a play kitchen that was bought for her and is actually VERY similar to the one I had growing up and she LOVES to "cook" you things and you pretend to eat them. Typically it is block soup or golf ball dumplings. ;)

If she is awake and hears the shower she will beat and cry outside the door until you let her in, and if you do not undress her and put her in the shower she will climb in clothed. She loves bathtime. Adalynn is still a bottomless pit in terms of eating. She has a few new foods that she likes...

  1. Cantaloupe
  2. Sometimes Chicken
  3. Steak in small pieces
  4. Salad with ginger sauce
  5. Breakfast Pizza
  6. Okra
  7. and the list goes on and on...
She loves drinking from a straw and from cups with no lids (this only happens with LOTS of supervision). But her bottles have been gone for quite some time. Now to get rid of the retched paci!!! She has really become attached to it just in the last 6 months since she has started teething. :(  Speaking of teething she has her 4 front teeth on the top and bottom and there are 2 TINY specs of her lower right molar poking through.

She loves Cheerwine & Sweet Tea if you leave you cup out and it has a straw she WILL drink it all!! As for growth about a month ago she was almost 21lbs and 30 inches tall. This puts her at about the 30th percentile for height and the 25th percentile for weight so she is finally leveling out!! :D

I graduate on Mother's Day. Hooray!! and then Adalynn and I will be heading down to FL for a month. Addison will join us more than likely Father's Day weekend for a week before we all head back to NC. We are looking forward to spending time in FL with my family but will miss our NC family. Sending much love to everyone.

Photos of Adalynn

In order to help so everyone can see Adalynn I have created a Flicker account with photos. If you follow the link below it will take you to Adalynn's page. There are pictures shown that have been uploaded or to the right there are the pictures separated into the various Albums. There will be videos as well once I figure that aspect out. :P

Update on Miss Adalynn

So I have failed HORRIBLY at keep this updated!! Adalynn, Addison and myself are all doing well. The lake is in full swing so Addison has been busy working away. Adalynn and I have been hanging out at home making hairbows as well as getting involved within the community with other Moms and children. We went to Raleigh the night of the 4th to stay with his Aunt Vickie and to be able to go with the family to pick Addison's brother Drew up from the airport. Drew was in China for 6 weeks as part of school. Adalynn started sitting on her own around the 23rd of June. She can't pull herself up to sit but if you place her sitting up she can stay there. We took her swimming Father's Day weekend at the community pool and she LOVEDDDDD it!! Addison & I's birthdays were perfect!! We went out to dinner and relaxed at home. Addison surprised me with stuff from Coach. We had a nice few days in Raleigh after the 4th. Addison enjoyed spending time and golfing with Drew. We are currently at the Beach with his family for his families yearly trip. Adalynn went to the beach yesterday and there was a little pool of water and she had a blast splashing in the water and grabbing handfuls of sand. She went to the doctors the 12th of July and she was 26.5 inches long and 14 lbs, 2 oz. :) Needless to say we are very happy and are totally in love with her. <3

27 April 2011

Adalynn is 4 months old today!!! Where has the time gone?! She is growing like a weed. At her doctors appointment on April 1st she was 11 lbs and 23.5 inches. She has been babbling away the last few days and making sure EVERYONE can hear what she has to say. Easter was spent as a family and couldn't have gone better. A special thanks to Addison's dad and Addison's friend James for running the lake so that we could go to church and lunch as a family. After church and lunch we had a fun and successful day running the lake as a team. It was an entire family affair. Addison's parents and friend James even stayed and helped. Adalynn LOVES to try and stand up like a big girl. She enjoys being in her Johnny Jump Up.

Here is a note from little Miss Adalynn herself.
